Design and develop Extract, Transform, & Load (ETL) processes to support MI/BI efforts
Expertise in writing complex SQL queries in multiple environments such as Microsoft SQL Server / Greenplum/Oracle
Expertise SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) / SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)
Experience in loading data from different sources / Building ETL pipe lines / implementing Enterprise Data Warehouses in SQL Server / Greenplum
Designs and develops optimal code to maintain exceptional performance in processing large volumes of data.
Good understanding of data distribution, table partitioning in SQL Server / Greenplum.
Develops and implements an efficient migration process to move ETL objects from development to test and production environments.
Understands database design, programming concepts, data modeling, and framework management.
Exposure to SQL Server Database Administration (DBA) role
Read, debug, modify, and create complex SQL code associated with a data warehouse.
Translates business requirements into technical specification.
Supports the project team throughout the design, development, and testing process.
Participates in all design reviews and requirement sessions, as required.
Supports project documentation, as required.
Communicates ideas to both technical and non-technical people in all levels of the organization.
Works with Business Analysts, Data Architects, Enterprise Architects, and ETL Architects to ensure business requirements are being met with the solution being developed.
Mentor other team members in developing, documenting, and modifying ETL components.
Work with versioning tools such as TFS and GIT
Understand business and application requirements, develop and maintain software to support those requirements.
Ability to work independently and multi-task effectively.
Qualifications
Extensive experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Greenplum.
Hands-on experience designing and developing ETL solutions involving large volumes of data for SQL Server / Greenplum.
Experience with large scale, complex data migration efforts.
Hands-on experience designing data warehouses – Dimensions/Fact Tables.
Full comprehension of SQL, cardinality, levels of granularity, normalized vs de-normalized databases · Expertise with – SQL Server Integration Services / SQL Server Analysis Services.
Expertise with gpfdist, PuTTY, File Transfer Protocols (FTP) · Expertise PowerShell scripting.
Knowledge of SQL Server DBA activities.
Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
